Incomplete Information in RDF
نویسندگان
چکیده
We extend RDF with the ability to represent property values that exist, but are unknown or partially known, using constraints. Following ideas from the incomplete information literature, we develop a semantics for this extension of RDF, called RDF, and study SPARQL query evaluation in this framework.

Querying Incomplete Geospatial Information in RDF
Incomplete information has been studied in-depth in relational databases and knowledge representation. It is also an important issue in Semantic Web frameworks such as RDF, description logics, and OWL 2. In [6], we introduced RDF, an extension of RDF for representing incomplete information using constraints. We defined a semantics for RDF and studied SPARQL query evaluation in this framework. G...
متن کاملQuerying Linked Geospatial Data with Incomplete Information
Linked geospatial data has recently received attention, as researchers and practitioners have started tapping the wealth of geospatial information available on the Web. Incomplete geospatial information, although appearing often in the applications captured by such datasets, is not represented and queried properly due to the lack of appropriate data models and query languages. We discuss our re...
متن کاملExpressing No-Value Information in RDF
RDF is a data model to represent positive information. Consequently, it is not clear how to represent the non-existence of information in RDF. We present a technique to express such information in RDF and incorporate it into SPARQL query answering. Given an empty query answer, our technique can distinguish whether it is empty due to possibly incomplete information, or non-existent information.
متن کاملUML and the Semantic Web
This paper discusses technology to support the use of UML for representing ontologies and domain knowledge in the Semantic Web. Two mappings have been defined and implemented using XSLT to produce Java classes and an RDF schema from an ontology represented as a UML class diagram and encoded using XMI. A Java application can encode domain knowledge as an object diagram realised as a network of i...
متن کاملDistributed Storage and Query of Large RDF Graphs
RDF tuples are the building blocks of the semantic web. As more data are expressed as RDF tuples, storage capabilities become important. The data set will become increasingly large such that it is necessary for data to be stored across multiple machines. Data set will be partitioned into smaller subsets, each containing an incomplete picture about data relationships. This has implications for q...
